1 Introduction
This page will be helpful to those who are just cruising the internet and come upon this website.
My name is Colin Sheldrick and I have been a white water raft guide for roughly 10 years. The river that I guide on is the Kings River, which is located east of Fresno, California. The Kings River is known as California’s only “big river”, meaning it is wide like the Colorado river and during the high point of rafting season has class 5, 4 and 3 rapids.
My fellow paddlers are friends, friends of friends and sometimes co-workers and for the most part I do not charge people money for the trips. I am trying to set the number of rafters per weekend to 12 but sometimes there are more and sometimes less.
A typical weekend is as follows: Leave Friday after work (carpooling with others if possible) and arriving that night. Saturday morning breakfast then off on a rafting trip, returning just in time for lunch then off on another rafting trip, returning in time for happy hour. Sunday morning breakfast then off on another rafting trip, returning in time for lunch. Typically this is the only trip of the day because I like to break camp and be home at a reasonable hour Sunday night.
